What is MVHR?

MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery)

MVHR, or Maximizing Value through High-Performance, is our comprehensive methodology for delivering cutting-edge, sustainable energy systems that perform exceptionally well over the long term. This approach combines technical expertise with a strategic focus on performance optimization, ensuring every system we design and implement not only meets but exceeds industry standards. From solar and wind installations to geothermal and energy storage, MVHP ensures that each component is finely tuned to create a high-performance, integrated system.

MVHR in Action

Our team at Built Green Renewables collaborates closely with clients to assess energy needs, site specifics, and sustainability goals, creating tailored MVHP solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing systems. Whether you’re looking to reduce carbon emissions in your operations or adopt renewable energy for a new project, our MVHR methodology ensures that your investment is both economically and environmentally sound.

Built Green Renewables: Partnering with you to achieve high-performance, sustainable energy solutions that maximise value for today and tomorrow.

Typical MVHR Cost

Two MVHR systems are seldom the same. However, generally they have one MVHR unit supply and extract ductwork with attenuators, valves and accessories, require a design, commissioning and an install. Our experience permits us to suggest typical anticipated costs which may help when financially planning your new home, self-build or retrofit project.

Dwelling up to 150m2 with kitchen, WC and main bathroom.

  • Design cost dependent upon branch or radial ductwork scheme typical range £350 to £450.
  • Supply ductwork, attentuators, high performance MVHR unit such as Zehnder, valves and all accessories generally £4350 to £4750.
  • Installation by Built Green (excluding bulkhead, risers and suchlike) typically £2350 to £2850.
  • Self Install guidance including virtual support – FOC
  • Commissioning by NICEIC competent Engineer £350.

Dwelling around 250m2 with kitchen, WC, ensuite and main bathroom.

  • Design cost dependent upon branch or radial ductwork scheme typical range £385 to £485.
  • Supply ductwork, attentuators, high performance MVHR unit such as Zehnder or Lindab, valves and all accessories generally £5350 to £5750.
  • Installation by Built Green (excluding bulkhead, risers and suchlike) typically £3350 to £3850.
  • Self-Install guidance including virtual support – FOC
  • Commissioning by NICEIC Ventilation Engineer £450.

Here at Built Green Renewables we offer a FREE sizing, specification and pricing proposal for your MVHR system. The specification will be calculated personally by a real engineer at our office to ensure it’s entirely compliant with UK Part F Building Regulations.

The proposal document will include itemised costs for all MVHR materials, detailed design and commissioning services.
